With only a few weeks left of summer in the United States and holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas headed our way, you might be trying to find a place to take a nice vacation. With holidays around the corner, it makes it even harder to find a place to stay. The best action would be to spice up your vacation on a little European island. And what’s better than traveling to a nice place with gorgeous beaches, buildings, and tourist sites?
Thira Island
Thira Island is located in the Cyclades. If you don’t know what the Cyclades are, they’re Greek islands in the southern part of the Aegean Sea. There are quite a few. Thira is very well known for its city, Santorini. It’s a recommended vacation place to visit in Thira.
Santorini has beach views and walkways by the water leading to boats. Depending on where you are in the city, you might even get some pristine, crystal-clear water. The architecture and views in Santorini are also to die for. It’s gorgeous. If you’re looking for things to do in the town, there are a ton of tours, both of the city and yacht tours. They also do mini cruises where you can fine dine and taste test the wines.
If you visit Thira, Santorini is the way to go. But remember, there are also many other cities and sites you can visit on the island.
Sardinia Island

Sardinia Island is located in the Mediterranean Sea, itching west of the Italian Peninsula and just south of Corsica (a region of France). Sardinia also happens to be the second largest island in Italy. While visiting Sardinia, you are more likely to find crystal clear beaches where you can see the bottom compared to Thira. Sardinia also holds a ton of historic buildings that you can visit.
When exploring the island, Sassari city is one of the places that should be on your list of places to visit. They have a nice town center you can walk in and boat tours with an amazing view of the whole city from the sea. And if Sassari doesn’t catch your interest, Iglesias is very well known for their gorgeous ocean-side views like The Marganai Mountains.
Madeira Island
Maderia is located in the Atlantic and is part of the Portuguese archipelago. Madeira is a good place to add to your vacation list if you are a big fan of nature and historical and cultural learning. The beaches are also pristine and clear for you to swim in. Laurissilva Forest is a good place to visit if you’re a fan of hiking.
The cliff-side views can be considered “to die for.” If you happen to be in town, there is also a chance that you can find a carnival or flower festival. Pretty cool, right? Madeira also offers whale and dolphin spotting and scuba diving if you dare.

Even though there were only three different European islands that we mentioned to add to your vacation bucket list, you can find other European Islands to visit with just a touch of Google. But highly consider the three here in the article. These three unique islands might be nice to visit once in your life.
Consider the views, historical places to visit, and food that can be tried there. It might be nice to learn something new from what you have been stuck with for a good portion of your life. Have fun planning.
