What if the first brownie made in the late 19th century had only three ingredients like this 3-ingredient Nutella Brownies?
Just yesterday I got invited to my friend’s second best friend’s game night house party – I know right? Tracing this friendship tree could be daunting at times. The games for the night looked exciting so I decided to attend.
While waiting for the game night to start, the room started oozing with a chocolate cake kind-of aroma. Out of curiosity, I went to the source of this aroma, tasted it, and discovered I missed one thing – a ring to put on the creator of this fudgy snack’s finger.
What blew my mind is that it required just three ingredients to actualize! So, I requested that I’d love to have this recipe to share with you and she was delighted to help! Thus, let’s go!
Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients For Preparing This Recipe
For this recipe to become a delicacy that you and your family would love, you will need these three ingredients
- 1¼ (13oz) cup of Nutella
- 2 large room-temperature eggs
- ½ cup of all-purpose flour
That’s all you need. However, you could make this 3-ingredient Nutella brownies recipe, 4-ingredient Nutella brownies recipe, or 5-ingredient recipe; which I’d touch on later in this article.
Step 2: Prepare Your Oven
Before mixing any ingredients, prepare your oven by preheating it to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (350°F). Then coat your baking tray with a no-stick cooking oil. You don’t want to mess up your delicious brownie recipe.
Step 3: Start With The Wet Ingredients
Break your two room-temperature eggs in a large bowl and whisk them till the mixture is pale and thick. Then add your Nutella (here’s a recipe for homemade Nutella) into the mixture and stir until combined completely. Set this ingredient aside.
Step 4: Get Your Dry Ingredient
Since we only have three ingredients and two are gone, the only one remaining is the dry one. Therefore, sift your all-purpose flour into the wet mixture.
Also, it’s important to note that you don’t stir this mixture. Instead, you fold it, however, don’t over-mix in this final step. Finally, make sure your flour and egg mixture are well combined.
Step 5: Last But Not The Least, Oven Time!
Pour your mixture into your baking tray and use your spatula to smooth the top. Then, put your brownie mixture into the oven for 25-30 minutes.
To check if the brownies are done, insert a toothpick into the top middle. If the toothpick comes out clean, then it’s ready! Allow them to cool before consumption.
Step 6: Your 3-Ingredient Nutella Brownies Are Ready!
At this point, I was impatient during step five, so when she took it out of the oven, I immediately got a knife to share.
Then, slap. “You don’t just rush in with a cold knife,” she explained after hitting my hand. Then she took the knife from my hand and heated it with the cooking gas to cut the brownies.
This trick helps you have a clean cut of your brownies and prevents the delicacy from sticking to your knife. You don’t want to mess up the final stage, smiles.
Make Your Nutella Brownie More Tasty!
If you don’t want to stop at three, you could make your brownies a four or five-ingredient recipe with cocoa powder and hot milk.
If you desire to add cocoa powder, during step four, sift your flour and cocoa powder together with the wet ingredient and fold accordingly.
Also, to make it a five-ingredient recipe, you could add hot milk to your final mixture to add extra moisture to your brownies. Finally, for that crunchy feel, you could add nuts which could convert your brownies to a healthier snack.
