3 Reasons to Visit Beautiful Sky Garden | London

Imagine having drinks in a garden 35 stories up looking out over the Thames, then turning a different direction to look out at St. Paul’s Cathedral from high above. How about looking down at The Shard or St Dunstan off to the east? The Sky Garden is located 35 stories above the sidewalks of Sky Garden Walk in a pyramid-shaped glass dome full of vibrant colorful plants chosen for their drought resistance and raised in the enclosed garden for all to enjoy.

The Gardens

These lush gardens, originally completed in January 2015, include a large variety of flowering plants, herbs, and greenery. All plants were chosen based on their tolerance for drought making them better able to live in the indoor climate. These choices include many rare plants. Some of the flowering plants include African Lily, Red Hot Poker, and the Bird of Paradise. You can also pick up the aromas of the French Lavender and Rosemary dispersed throughout. Among the rarer species, you will find the Madeira Cranesbill Geranium from Madeira and the Giant Cabuya and the Foxtail Agave both from Mexico.

All of these lovely gardens are located on the many pathways, observation decks, indoor gardens, and open-air terraces 35 stories above the city.

Eateries in the Sky Garden

Do you need more than the extravagant gardens as a reason to visit the Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street in London? How about the fabulous gourmet restaurants? There are three after all.

Darwin Brasserie | The Very Best of British

On the 36th floor, you can sit in a seat along the windows looking out over the city for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Darwin serves the best seasonal dishes you can expect with British Cuisine. Rating 4.3/5 on Google and 5/5 on TripAdvisor, you won’t find a better meal with a better view in all of London. Some reviews state “Best view in London. Food was very good and priced reasonably” and “Really nice food. The view was amazing as well. Kostas was really friendly and made our stay pleasant.” Sounds like one place we will be eating when we go in 2025. Make your reservation here

Fenchurch | British Fine Dining

Take time to allow Head Chef, Kerth Gumbs of Caribbean heritage, to serve you flavors from his homeland. Whether you choose a nine-course tasting or order from his a la carte menu with samples of his award-winning culinary expertise, you will not be disappointed. And to compliment your meal, choose one of the cocktails specially made just for you by one of the restaurant’s mixologists. What could be better? A gourmet meal, overlooking ancient London, with a gourmet view in a gourmet city.

Open for lunch and dinner Wednesdays through Sunday, located on the 37th floor, it’s a must if visiting the Sky Garden for dinner. Also sporting ⅘ stars from both Google and TripAdvisor, reviews note that “ The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was beautiful and delicious. Sky Garden Bars

Still need another reason? How about the Sky Garden Bars? There are two located in different areas of the gardens, Sky Pod and City Garden. While reservations are preferred, there is room for walk-ins. However, if you do want to be sure to get in, a reservation is always the way to go. There is always DJ music in the evenings Monday – Saturday starting at 6:30 pm as well as VIP music nights that include champagne and a bar food menu.
