Walls are one of the most noticeable features of any room, but many people rarely give them much thought. No matter how thoroughly the kitchen and bathrooms are cleaned, a house with dirty walls is still unclean.

Having a few go-to DIY wall-cleaning recipes on hand lets you enjoy your house and relax, knowing that you can tackle any cleaning challenges that may occur. The following article covers wall cleaning techniques that won’t harm wood, remove paint, or harm stone.

How to Clean Your Walls

We’re going to look at some cleaning techniques which will help you clean your walls without worrying about damaging the paint. Dusting should be done first before choosing the right cleaner for the type of wall you have. Over time, dust and filth build on all walls, so there’s no need to spend extra time using a rag to clean those dirty areas.

Before starting, think about what kind of spots you have and what will work best on them. Don’t go all crazy and start rubbing the walls with any solution you see on the internet. If you choose to paint your walls by yourself and aren’t sure what kind of paint you have, consider cleaning a tiny area inside a wardrobe or closet to test if the solution is working for you.

These all-natural wall cleaning solutions just need one to three ingredients, and are safe and efficient to use.

1) Vinegar Solution

All you need is

  • 3 1/2 cup white Vinegar
  • 1/2 gallon of water

In a big bucket, mix the vinegar and water. Start at the top of your wall and work your way down in sections with a scrub brush. This easy-to-make DIY cleaner is excellent for floors as well.

2) Liquid Dish Soap Walls Cleaner

To make this mixture you’ll need

  • 3 Tsp liquid dishwashing soap
  • 4 cups of warm water
  • sponge
  • gloves

Put the gloves on and mix the dish soap and water in a bowl. Wet the sponge with the cleaning solution. Remove as much of the soapy water as possible from the sponge, but don’t completely dry it off.

Start at the top and work your way down. While cleaning, it’s acceptable to use a little pressure but watch out for the paint to make sure you don’t damage the finishing. When the cleaning solution becomes dirty, change it.

3) Baking Soda Cleaner

For this DIY cleaner, you’ll need:

  • 2 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 gallon of warm water
  • gloves
  • sponge
  • bucket

Put the gloves on and combine the ingredients in a bucket. Wet the sponge in the mixture. Be careful to clean the corners and cracks in your baseboards where the wall meets the ceiling in addition to thoroughly cleaning the walls. When the water becomes very dirty, replace it.

4) Tile And Wall Cleaner

This cleaner can be used on walls as well as on tiles.

  • One spray bottle
  • A single cup of undiluted white vinegar
  • One tablespoon of dishwashing liquid
  • One-fourth teaspoon of tea tree oil
  • One-fourth teaspoon eucalyptus oil

Mix up all these ingredients in a spray bottle. Spray it on to the stubborn stains to get them soaked before cleaning them. After 10 to 15 minutes, start rubbing them with a microfiber cloth, and they will be removed easily.

5) Crayon and Permanent Marker Remover

One of the best methods for removing crayon stains off walls is to use an old toothbrush dipped in pure white vinegar. Then gently scrub the stain in circular motions. Use a damp towel to clean all the walls after the stain has been removed. The vinegar doesn’t leave any residue after it dries up, so you don’t need to be worried about how it will smell afterwards.

It’s best to clean your walls once a month or every other month, as this will make cleaning easier for you. This way you won’t have to clean all the dust, filth, stains, and spatters that have built up again. After finishing your task, you can relax and take in what you’ve achieved.
