D23 hasn’t disappointed fans of Disney Parks, and the upgrades aren’t stopping. When Avengers Campus was announced, promises were made for an Avengers-themed e-ticket attraction. However, fans have not heard anything since then. In its current state, the land is fun but many guests believe it is lacking in attractions. It will not be lacking for much longer. At the company’s expo, two new attractions have been announced for the land.
D23 Announces Avengers Campus Upgrades
The D23 parks and experiences panel is one of the hottest tickets for good reason. Fans get to see the concept art firsthand. In Avengers Campus, fans were happy to hear that Avengers: Infinity Defense will begin construction next year. In studying the concept art, it looks as though guests will be tasked with helping Earth’s Mightiest Heroes defeat Thanos in an infinity stone-based battle. The menacing purple alien is shown wielding his dual-bladed weapon.
In the other piece of concept art, the Hulk is seen protecting guests from a crashing ship in what looks to be Wakanda. In the background, Shuri’s Black Panther and the Dora Milaje can be seen fighting an unseen force. This promises to be an epic adventure that might rival Rise of the Resistance in Galaxy’s Edge. While most people expected to hear about one attraction, they did not expect to hear the announcement of another.
2 Rides Are Coming!
Tony Stark was the one who started the MCU. It is only fitting Iron Man gets his own ride. STARK Flight Lab will also be coming to Avengers Campus. There were very few details shown, but we do know what the ride vehicle looks like. A picture of Bob Iger and Robert Downey Jr. sitting in the ride vehicle was shown. From the looks of things, this will likely be a coaster centered around testing out Tony Stark’s newest flight suit. While this storyline will be less epic than Avengers: Infinity Defense, it is another upgrade to the land.
Avengers Campus needed more. The MCU is full of popular characters, and the possibilities for attractions are endless. This is another huge upgrade to the domestic parks and one that was badly needed.
