American rapper Sammie Marquez Benson, professionally known as Blac Youngsta, is finally off a firearm-related case. This comes three years following his arrest in 2020. Reports indicate that it is not the Memphis-based rapper’s first time to be busted on a weapons charge. However, recent reports validate the dismissal of his case by a judge in a Dallas court.
Blac Youngsta’s Firearm Case Dismissed
Blac Youngsta was arrested in October 2020 for a gun-related case for the second time. The vehicle carrying the rapper was said to have made an illegal turn which caught cops’ attention. After the traffic stop and search, the cops disclosed that they found a handgun with the rapper.
Law enforcement further revealed that the gun was found tucked between his legs. As a result, Youngsta was arrested and taken to jail for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. However, he posted a cash bond, guaranteeing his next appearance in court.
However, recent reports indicate an end to the rapper’s misery as an interesting turn of events has been recorded. Court documents reveal that a Texas judge has reportedly dismissed the gun case against Blac Youngsta.
TMZ spoke to Carl A. Moore, Blac Youngsta’s lawyer, about the issue. Moore revealed that his client is happy to put the case behind him. According to the attorney, the DA’s office did the right thing by dropping the charge and allowing justice to prevail.
Blac Youngsta Arrested For Similar Offense
Interestingly, Blac Youngsta’s arrest in 2020 was not his first involvement in a similar case. In 2019, a police report revealed that the rapper landed in the police net for possessing two fully loaded semi-automatic pistols in a Louis Vuitton bag.
It was reported that the rapper was a backseat passenger in a car with three of his friends. The cops pulled them over for running a red light when they perceived the smell of marijuana from the car. Routinely, a search was conducted, and the cops discovered three pistols and marijuana.
As a result, Blac Youngsta was charged with felony possession of a prohibited weapon. The weapon was said to be an armour-piercing ammunition. Another passenger, Marcus Dion Cartwright, was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon. Nothing was found on the other passengers of the car, so they weren’t charged. Blac Youngsta’s cash bond at the time was set at $2,500.
Final Thoughts
Blac Youngsta who is signed to Yo Gotti’s record label Collective Music Group (CMG) is yet to comment on the issue. Hopefully, this is the last time the rapper is involved in such cases.
With the case being a thing of the past now, fans are wondering when a new project will be released. His last album project was released in May 2022. So, it’s safe to assume that Youngsta might have something in the works.
