FBI Arrested Legal Staffer from DOJ on Graphic Child Images Charges

Longtime employee of the Department of Justice, Timothy Parsons, was arrested and is facing federal criminal charges for possession of explicit child images. When the warrants were executed, the onsite investigation showed none of the aforementioned materials. While he has not entered a plea and been unable to be reached for comment, the FBI will be holding him until a complete and thorough forensic examination of his devices is done. 

Arrested After FBI Probe Affidavit

In reports from CBS News multiple sources spoke with them and revealed this information. A statement taken from a spokesperson for the Justice Department saying, “The employee is on leave and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with standard procedure. While we cannot comment on personnel matters, we hold all of our employees to the highest standards of ethical conduct at all times.” His appearance at court in Greenbelt, Maryland was scheduled for Friday with no relevant information released at this time.

According to their report, an FBI affidavit showed Parsons was the recipient of two videos as well as multiple videos depicting child abuse. He had told investigators those messages had since been deleted. Documentation of the charges are rumored to say Parsons’ reaction was sexually charged, saying “That is so hot.”

Through an affidavit CBS mentions, it is said that content Parsons had received were sent by Victor Blythe in 2019, which led to his consequent arrest in 2025. If the affidavit is accurate in surmising that the probe done in 2019 by FBI that had Parsons answering questions leading to Blythe’s arrest, there might be something more to what happened in that time.
