The Federal COVID-19 online hub has been taken offline and replaced with a brand-new federal website that places the blame for COVID-19 on China. The COVID-19 pandemic was responsible for the death of over a million Americans. “Lab Leak” pushes the theory that the Chinese created COVID-19 in a lab. Donald Trump has repeatedly pushed this conspiracy theory. This move comes just as the Trump administration is escalating its trade war with China.
Trump Supports Conspiracy Theory
It also comes at a time when Trump has stepped up his attacks on his predecessors, former President Joe Biden, and Biden’s former medical advisor, Dr. Anthony Fauci. On the “Lab Leak” website, Biden and Fauci are mentioned and blamed for not supporting the theory that China created the virus.
The new website offers five arguments, among them is an explanation that the Chinese City of Wuhan is where the virus was created and spread from. Even though the Trump administration has not provided any proof to back this claim.
New Website Criticizes Biden
The website that Trump had taken down offered important information on testing, treatment, and vaccines. It provides links on how to order a home test online. It also offered advice on when you should see a doctor as well a guidance for people with health conditions.
The new website harshly criticizes the precautionary measures taken by the Biden administration, including social distancing, lockdowns, and mask-wearing. The launching of the new website comes on the heels of the Central Intelligence Committee modestly approving the lab leak theory.
Website Also Attacks Andrew Cuomo
The website also claims that Andrew Cuomo, the former governor of New York City, committed “medical malpractice” in the way he handled the pandemic. The website also declares that the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 response was an “abject failure.” Trump has started the process of pulling the United States out of the World Health Organization.
Website Claims Americans Mislead
“Public health officials often mislead the American people through conflicting messaging, knee-jerk reactions, and a lack of transparency,” the page states. “Most egregiously, the federal government demonized alternative treatments and disfavored narratives, such as the lab leak theory, in a shameful effort to coerce and control the American people’s health decisions.”
CIA Gives Nod to Lab Theory
A Central Intelligence Committee spokesperson said back in January that the CIA assessed the COVID-19 pandemic was born from a lab leak but added that it had “low confidence” in the assessment that a natural origin for COVID-19 is still plausible.
Former National Health Director Francis Collins supports the COVID lab leak theory, “confirming with 100% certainty the origin of a virus is a long and complicated process. It took 14 years for scientists to find a single bat population that contained all the necessary genetic components of SARS-CoV, the virus that caused the 2003 SARS epidemic. We still do not know the origins of the 2014 Ebola outbreak,” Collins said in a statement.
Reportedly, China has taken steps to determine the virus’s origin and has accused Americans of politicizing the matter, especially because of efforts by U.S. intelligence agencies to investigate the cause.
