Former President Donald Trump reportedly faced another assassination attempt on his life while playing golf at his Florida course, according to the FBI on Sunday. In a report from The Associated Press, the FBI said that it was investigating “what appears to be an attempted assassination” on Trump’s life.

This took place at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Martin County (Fla.) Sheriff William D. Snyder said the male suspect was apprehended. This was done in a matter of minutes after the FBI, Secret Service. and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office put out a “very urgent BOLO” — or “be on the lookout” alert” detailing the specific vehicle sought, license plate number, and occupant description.

Snyder said his deputies “immediately flooded” northbound Interstate 95. They were deployed along every exit on the highway between the Palm Beach County line and St. Lucie County line. “One of my road patrol units saw the vehicle, matched the tag and we set up on the vehicle,” he said, “We pinched in on the car, got it safely stopped and got the driver in custody.”

Trump’s political campaign released a statement from Donald Trump contained as part of an email to his campaign followers.

Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw also said on Sunday afternoon that U.S. Secret Service agents fired at a man pointing an AK-style rifle with a scope into the club as Trump was on the course. Bradshaw said the gunman also had two backpacks hanging on a fence and a GoPro camera. The suspect reportedly was about 400 yards to 500 yards away from Donald Trump and hiding in shrubbery while the former president played golf on a nearby hole. The person dropped the weapon and fled in an SUV, and was later taken into custody in a neighboring county.

A U.S. official told Fox News in a report that this event is being treated as a potential assassination attempt. “This does not appear to be some random guy with an AK-47 walking outside Trump’s club,” the official added. The Fox News report indicated that Donald Trump was on the fifth hole of his course when shots rang out, prompting his protective detail to swarm him. They moved Trump into a clubhouse on the course.

Fox News commentator Sean Hannity and host Bret Baier indicated that they had spoken with Trump on Sunday. According to Baier, Trump told him that he was OK and doing fine. Trump reportedly also offered praise for the Secret Service’s quick action.

The White House released a statement regarding the Trump situation. According to CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, the statement read, “The President and Vice President have been briefed about the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course, where former President Trump was golfing. They are relieved to know that he is safe. They will be kept regularly updated by their team.”

Collins also reported that Trump’s West Palm Beach campaign office went into lockdown after the shooting. Several staffers were in the building at the time. But the lockdown has been lifted as of later Sunday afternoon.

This event comes on the heels of a July assassination attempt on Trump’s life at a political rally in Butler, Pa. At that event, Trump suffered a laceration to his right ear. Over a matter of days, Trump appeared in public with a bandage over his wound. He wore the bandage during the Republican National Convention, where he accepted his party’s nomination to run for a second term as president.

Details continue to come out about this situation as of Sunday afternoon, Sept. 15.
