Gypsy Rose Blanchard has been open about her split with her husband, Ryan Anderson, since she announced the separation on March 29th on her private Facebook page.

Yes, after nearly two years of holy matrimony, the couple is heading for divorce court. The two tied the knot while Blanchard was incarcerated in July 2022. Gypsy Rose and Ryan have lived together as a married couple since Blanchard was released from prison early in December 2023.
Three months later, things are over. This isn’t exactly surprising. Research (available here) does indicate that even a short incarceration during marriage increases divorce rates. Being released doesn’t reduce the risk of the marriage ending with the rates of divorce increasing over the 10 years after the inmate has been let out.
People reported that less love and more intimate partner violence occurred after the inmate was released. That particular finding is particularly interesting when rumors surrounding the split came out recently.
Why Did Gypsy Rose Want A Divorce?
Allegedly, according to a friend of Gypsy’s, Blanchard wanted to end things after the couple had a particularly bad spat.
The friend reported that the couple allegedly had an argument where Ryan shouted in her face, which led to Gypsy Rose locking herself in the bathroom. According to the friend, Anderson was banging on the bathroom door and yelling to be let in.
Ryan Anderson is a very tall, large man, which would feel particularly threatening to a much smaller woman who has past trauma related to disputes and physical violence.
Allegedly, Blanchard called a family member, got to safety, and called her lawyer.
Ryan Anderson Talks For The First Time About Gypsy Rose
This Friday, via the Daily Mail, Ryan Anderson finally had something to say. In the interview, Ryan said that the ending of his marriage came out of the blue and that he isn’t doing well with the circumstances. He also said that he had not spoken to Blanchard.
Unsubstantiated news came out that Gypsy Rose is back together with her ex-fiancé, which Anderson said he was also unaware of.
On TikTok on Saturday, Ryan told us that we would find out “what really happened” between the couple.
At this point, it’s almost impossible to know where the truth actually stands. Hopefully, everyone involved finds peace and happiness. We’re also all waiting to hear what really happened, like Ryan Anderson promised.
A Learning Curve for Gypsy Rose
Ms. Blanchard has always been imprisoned. Whether it be one of her mother’s creations or the Missouri one, she has always had her freedom restricted.
This next step in Gypsy Rose’s life will likely be uncomfy (one for the LIB fans) and cringe because she’s a woman in her 30s living out a skipped childhood. She will make all of the relationship mistakes we all made in our teens and 20s and none of the zits, which is completely unfair.
Some people say Gypsy is manipulative. Others say she is naive. Both can be true at the same time. It’s a bit early on to define her as anything though. Let’s give the girl a chance to grow up, shall we?
