Annabelle Doll Missing Reports Spread about ‘Evil’ Object

Annabelle Doll missing rumors

After reports that a haunted object known as the Annabelle doll was missing, a team from the New England Society for Psychic Research issued an update that sent social media into a frenzy. The team began by stressing that there was never any danger to the public from Annabelle, who is one of the most well-known haunted objects in the world. Tony Spera, the director of the society, confirmed Annabelle’s location.

Annabelle Missing Rumors Quashed

Annabelle’s location was given only after the rumors of her missing were quashed by Ryan Buell, a paranormal investigator. Annabelle was made famous by the Warrens, Ed and Lorraine, a married team of demonologists who take on paranormal cases. Annabelle is a Raggedy Ann doll that is kept inside a glass case. She is a part of the Warren Occult Museum located in Connecticut. Due to zoning violations, the museum was closed to the public in 2018.

Annabelle Doll-Inspired Movies

The Annabelle Doll was featured in the 2013 horror hit The Conjuring. The real Annabelle doll was not used in the movie. The Conjuring was so popular spinoffs from the original Annabelle (2014), Annabelle Creation (2017), and Annabelle Comes Home (2019). This week, social media was bombarded by videos claiming that Annabelle was missing. The videos had millions of views. The videos, however, were spreading false information.

Annabelle Doll On Tour

“We had taken the Annabelle doll on a brief tour to several locations so paranormal enthusiasts could witness the real Annabelle,” said the director of the New England Society of Psychic Research, Tony Spera. Many horror fans were unhappy with the Annabelle Doll going on tour, as the Warrens had repeatedly stated that the doll should never be moved.

TikTok user @Christopher Kelly shared a video that was viewed over 2.6 million times. “The Annabelle doll is missing… Lorraine tried to warn you, she said this doll should never be moved because it’s extremely dangerous.”

Doll Was Never Missing

Spera has stressed that “the public was never in any danger and the doll was never missing.” It is not clear what sparked the rumors that Annabelle was missing, but she did make headlines earlier this week after a plantation where she was shown during the tour was burned to the ground. Buell and Dan Rivera posted a video to Facebook informing viewers where Annabelle is now.

Warren’s Museum

“Annabelle is in the Warren’s Occult Museum,” Rivera says in the video. He shares footage from inside the museum showing the doll inside her glass case.”Annabelle is back home resting. For now.”

“The doll was never out of our site or control. My team members, Dan Rivera, Chris Gilloren, and Wade Kirby, kept her safely secured and guarded. We also traveled with a catholic priest to ensure the public was safe. The priest frequently blessed the doll (in her protect enclosure), using binding ritualistic prayers,” Spera wrote in an email to Newsweek.

“Some wild and crazy internet rumors this morning claiming that we lost Annabelle. She/it is NOT lost and here‘s Dan Rivera with NESPR proving she is back home inside the museum in Connecticut… for now,” Buell added.
