Suspect of John Hunt’s Family Mass Murder Is In Custody

John Hunt, the Sky Sports Racing presenter and BBC 5 Live commentator, is facing a Hunt family tragedy. His wife, Carol Hunt, 61, and two daughters, Hannah, a beautician, and Louise, a dog groomer, aged 28 and 25, respectively, were murdered in Ashlyn Close, Bushey, in Hertfordshire, just before 7 pm on Tuesday. They were pronounced dead on the scene. This heinous murder led to the launch of a search to find the suspect, Kyle Clifford, 26. It is believed that the murders were ‘targeted’ but more will be found out as the investigation unfolds.

The now widower, John Hunt, has to suffer the aftermath of losing his wife and two girls. The police said that the murder weapon was a crossbow and there is a possibility that other weapons were involved in the killings. In addition, the police forces believe that Kyle Clifford was known to the victims and a manhunt was issued for him. Hunt isn’t the only one grieving over his family, though. The local community is left ‘completely in shock,’ friends and family paid tribute by leaving flowers near Ashlyn Close in Bushey, Hertfordshire.

The Manhunt for Kyle Clifford

A huge manhunt was launched this morning for Kyle Clifford in North London after the Triple Bushley Murder took place. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that Clifford had served in the Armed Forces, and it is believed that he left the British Army after a short period of service in 2022. They searched for him, including at an address in Einfeld. The search involves the police working alongside the Met and Hertfordshire Constabulary.

Armed police and paramedics were seen rushing into Lavender Hill cemetery in Enfield, which is close to Clifford’s home, where they had found him. He received medical treatment, but police and paramedics reported that no shots had been fired. He was taken by ambulance to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, and nobody else is being sought in connection with the investigation at this time.

The Aftermath and Tributes Paid

After this tragic incident, the Home Secretary is urgently considering whether tougher crossbow laws need to be introduced and implemented based on the findings of an internal review in the wake of the attack. “We keep legislation under constant review, and a call for evidence was launched earlier this year to look at whether further controls on crossbows should be introduced,” a spokesperson for the U.K. Home Office said. “The home secretary will swiftly consider the findings to see if laws need to be tightened further.”

The Sky Sports Racing and BBC 5 Live staff mourn the Hunt family loss and send John their deepest condolences. The police urge and wish that the public offer Hunt and his family the privacy they need to deal with and overcome their tragic and horrible loss, as a formal identification of the bodies is yet to be made. The police still urge that anyone with information or footage contact the force directly and “refrain from commenting on social media.”

Stay tuned as more updates come our way on the Triple Bushley Murder. Our deepest condolences go out to John Hunt and everyone affected by this horrible murder. Some of the Hunt family members may be gone, but they will never be forgotten.
