‘Marxist Woke Pope’ Causes MAGA To Have Massive Meltdown

Pope Leo XVI is being called the "woke pope" by MAGA.

Mere hours after the conclave elected a new pope, MAGA faithful began having complete meltdowns about the newly elected “Marxist woke pope.” Shortly after his election, Robert Prevost, now known as Pope Leo XIV, it was revealed that he had publicly criticized Trump’s Vice President JD Vance and had also expressed compassion for George Floyd and immigrants. Prevost was considered the “dark horse,” and MAGA wasn’t expecting his victory.

Trump Faithful Attack ‘Woke Pope’

Despite many in the U.S. expressing pride in the first American pope being elected, Trump loyalists turned to social media to express their anger over the selection, complaining the new pope would be “worse than Francis,” criticizing the former pontiff for his left-leaning values, and referring to him as the “woke pope.”

Even before the 267th Pope was elected, Trump loyalist Steve Bannon warned that Prevost’s views made him a “woke pope” and a bad choice for the MAGA agenda. “I do think one of the dark horses — and unfortunately one of the most progressive — is Cardinal Prevost… he’s certainly on the shortlist,” Bannon said last week during an interview with Piers Morgan.

Prevost’s Old Tweets Surface

Rob Schmitt, an anchor for Newsmax, whined that this “Pope better not be woke.” Just hours after his comments, the new pope was elected. Soon after Prevost’s election, his old tweets about the Trump administration’s immigration stance became a focal point. His posts criticizing JD Vance and his expression of grief over the killing of George Floyd took center stage.

‘Woke Pope’ Criticized Vance

“JD Vance is wrong: Jesus doesn’t ask us to rank our love for others,” Prevost tweeted earlier this year. His tweet was about Vance’s comments about Christians needing to prioritize their love. It took little time for some of Trump’s most recognizable faithful to attack the new “woke pope’s” social media posts.

“Sorry, Catholics. This new pope is an open borders globalist. He will be pushing for abortion soon. This isn’t a guess. You can scroll his X account and see what he’s been up to,” Mike Cernovich, a well-known alt-right conspiracy theorist, wrote on X. He would later share screenshots of Prevost’s tweets about deportations to El Salvador and gun control.

Trump Faithful Blast Pope

Joey Mannarino, a Trump loyalist and social media personality, complained that “the new Pope has recently attacked JD Vance, shown solidarity with Kilmar Abrego-Garcia, and begged Trump to open the borders like Biden had them.” He added that “this guy is worse than Francis.” In another X post, Mannarino went as far as to call the new pope a “liberal piece of s***,” adding that “we’re f***ed.”

MAGA influencer Vince Langman shared a tweet Prevost made in 2015 criticizing Trump’s stance on immigration and wrote, “In case you’re wondering why they picked an American to be a Pope for the first time in history. He’s a WOKE Never Trumper liberal. That’s why!”

Laura Loomer Rages

A far-right extremist and Islamophobe, Laura Loomer, raged on X most of the day on Thursday. “The new Pope once retweeted a post about how we need to keep praying for career criminal & drug addict George Floyd. May all hatred, violence, and prejudice be eradicated. What prejudice? Is that another way to spell FENTANYL OVERDOSE? MARXIST POPE!” she raged.

Conspiracy Theorists Attack Prevost

Pizzagate conspiracist Jack Posobiec, meanwhile, was visibly irate over the tweets about Vance and immigrants before attempting to exert pressure on Pope Leo XIV to support Trump. “We need to see from the jump, from the absolute jump, whether or not Pope Leo is interested in working with President Trump or — as we can see from his Twitter feed — working against him,” he said during the broadcast of his Real America’s Voice show, posted Posobiec.

“As a representative of Catholics all around the world, perhaps he’ll understand that it was Catholics who delivered the White House for President Trump,” he concluded. “And perhaps, just perhaps, the new pope will listen.”
