Melania Trump Labels Her Husband’s Survival ‘Miracles’

Melania Trump, Donald Trump, First Lady, US Politics

Former first lady Melania Trump called it “miracles” that her husband, former President Donald Trump, survived two attempts on his life in recent months. Trump sat down with Fox News for her first one-on-one interview in nearly two years. She’s currently out promoting her memoir.

Melania Trump made her comments on these and other topics in a pre-taped interview with Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt. She called on Democratic leadership and party members, along with media members, to quit viewing and branding her husband as a threat to democracy. In her interview, Trump said it was the media’s fault for “fueling a toxic atmosphere.” She also blamed them for pushing people who “want to do harm to him.”

“This is not normal,” she told Earhardt. Additionally, Trump said that she was notified by an assistant when her husband’s assassination attempt took place at Butler, Pa., in July. She was in New York when she saw television reports about a second assassination attempt in Florida.

Melania Trump Hints At Divine Intervention

“I think something was watching over him,” Trump said, The Associated Press reported. “It’s almost like” the “country really needs him.” She also had pointed comments about the violence aimed toward the former president.

“Is it really shocking that all this egregious violence goes against my husband?” she told Earhardt in the interview. “Especially that we hear the leaders from the opposition party and mainstream media branding him as a threat to democracy, calling him vile names? This needs to stop.”

During recent campaign stops and rallies, Donald Trump has been seen without his wife by his side. Melania Trump has not been active on the campaign trail while her husband makes stops all across the United States. She has not publicly indicated whether she will be joining him at future campaign rallies.

When Trump famously came down his escalator at Trump Tower to announce his first presidential run, she was right by his side. She was quite public at political events during that time leading up to her husband winning. But Melania Trump has not been too public with either appearances or comments in recent months. She reportedly has been taking care of her and her husband’s son Barron, focusing on him more these days.

Melania Trump added that it was Barron’s choice to live at the family home in New York while attending New York University for college studies. “I could not say I’m an empty nester. I don’t feel that way,” she said. “It was his decision to come here, that he wants to be in New York and study in New York and live in his home. And I respect that.”

Donald Trump Wanted More Kids

Speaking of family, Earhardt asked Trump if there had ever been any talk about having more children between herself and her husband.

“I was always perfectly fine with one,” she said in the Fox News interview. “And Donald was encouraging to have more. And I said like I’m completely fine with one because it’s” a “very busy life, and I know how busy he is. And I am in charge of everything. So that’s why it’s just perfect.”

A lot of her work life before meeting her husband was as a Slovenian-native model. These days, though, she stays busy tending to her son and her own life in New York City. Yet Trump looks back on that period in her life with some wisdom packed into it for her.

“The fashion industry, it’s glamorous, but it’s, at the same time, very tough,” she said. “Everybody judges you, look at you” a “certain way, so it can be a mean world as well. So nothing prepared me more for this world than fashion. It gives you a thick skin.”
