Met Gala 2025 Stellar Guest List on the Red Carpet

Met Gala

Last night’s Met Gala 2025 featured a star-studded guest list wearing the most coveted fashion looks on the red carpet. The annual charity event is a fundraiser for The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, historically raising eight-figure sums, and held at the New York City museum.

For 77 years, art and fashion enthusiasts have gathered to support this event, strategically timed for the opening of the department’s annual fashion exhibition. This year, the event realized its biggest proceeds at $31 million and included some of the most impressive industry names.

The Met Gala 2025 Guest List

Each year, the dress code changes for the Met Gala, the most significant spring red-carpet event. High-end fashion brands purchase tables, inviting celebrities dressed in their finest. Anna Wintour, chief content editor of Condé Nast and Vogue global director, oversees the guest list of around 450 A-listers.

Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, and A$AP Rocky were the 2025 co-chairs, with honorary chair LeBron James and an impressive “host committee.” Met Gala favorites attended, including Rihanna, Zendaya, Diana Ross, Kim Kardashian, and Cardi B.

Theme and Dress Code

The 2025 exhibition was titled “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and the gala’s dress code was “Tailored for You.” The exhibition is focused on Black styles over the decades, including high-end menswear. Additionally, the exhibition is organized in a dozen sections representing characteristics of the dandy style.

These sections include Distinction, Ownership, Disguise, Presence, Champion, Freedom, Respectability, Beauty, Heritage, Cosmopolitan, Cool, and Jook, which is defined in “Characterics of Negro Expression” from Zora Neale Hurston as a space for leisure activities like drinking and dancing.
