The body of a missing North Carolina woman was found in the woods of Fayetteville. 25-year-old Heather Williams was found dead on January 10, 2025, after she was missing for six days. After the police began a follow-up investigation into her disappearance, they were led to nearby woods along Newark Avenue and State Avenue. Unfortunately, they discovered a deceased Williams and began investigating her death as a homicide. Since then, Fayetteville police have arrested the suspect, 30-year-old Tyrell Siermons, and charged him with first-degree murder.ย
Missing North Carolina Woman
Heather Williams, the missing North Carolina Woman, went missing from her home on the evening of January 4, 2025. Her final moments were caught on a Ring doorbell camera walking out of her front door and then crossing the lawn to get in a gray four-door Sedan. The driver was unknown and not shown in the footage, and her family members could not identify the car. Her sister, Mary Williams, reported that they checked the camera footage the following morning and never showed Heather returning home.ย
Heather was hit by a car in 2015, leaving her almost entirely mute. She spent months in a coma and was finally learning how to walk and talk again. Her family said that her brain injuries had made her too trusting of strangers. To them, that could explain why she was comfortable getting into a strangerโs car, but it also left them terrified.ย
The missing North Carolina womanโs sister made a heartfelt plea to the public, asking for anyone with any information, no matter how seemingly small or irrelevant, to come forward. She was desperately searching for her sister after she was spotted by a Ring camera getting into a random car late in the evening. She said, “Somebody has to know something.” Mary Williams continued, “I just pray that whoever does know comes forward so we can get justice for Heather.โ
The Independent Investigationย
The missing North Carolina womanโs family filed a missing personโs report and pulled her phone records from Verizon. Mary Williams took the investigation into her own hands and began going through her sisterโs phone history, call log, etc. She found the most recent phone call to a random number made when Heather left her house for the final time. She contacted the number and asked pertinent questions such as the type of car he drove, and if he had picked up her sister that night, she went missing.ย
According to Mary, โHe said he met her on Facebook, either through Facebook Dating or Messenger, he couldnโt remember which. He said he hung out with her one night, but he wasnโt sure if it was Saturday night.โ He claimed he drove a red SUV which was not the one from the footage.
She was persistent with him and pried out as much information as she could until โHe did finally come back and say he picked her up that night, but that he was using his friendโs car so that he wasnโt lying about driving a red SUV, but that he was borrowing a car that night.โ She later followed up with the same person and he confirmed in a text, โYes, the car that picked her up was that car.โ
Final Justice Will Be Served
While Mary Williams believes that the person she contacted through Heatherโs cellphone is the suspect the Fayetteville police arrested and charged, the police have yet to confirm it. Police say Siermons was imprisoned for allegedly robbing, kidnapping, and shooting someone but was recently released. He is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.ย
This is an unfortunate tragedy that breaks the hearts of many. Mary Williams claimed, โIโm not angry at the justice system or the people who didnโt keep him locked up. Iโm angry at him because heโs to blame.โ She continued, โHeโs the one that made the decisions, and other people shouldnโt have to answer for his actions because heโs the one who did this, and he is the one with evil in him.โ She is right, and all the justice system can do is put him back in prison and bring justice to Heather Williams and her family.
