As Democrats and liberals across the nation celebrate Pope Leo XIV’s election, one person close to the new pope isn’t quite as happy about the situation. Pope Leo’s brother, Louis Prevost, is not as happy for his brother’s success as he could be. Prevost is the Pope’s older brother, who resides in Port Charlotte, Florida. Prevost recently spoke openly with the New York Times about his brother’s new job.
Brothers’ Views Do Not Line Up
Prevost told the Times that the fact that his brother was elected came as a shock. He jokingly said, “Jeez, it was like just yesterday I was throwing him down the stairs. And now he’s pope!” Prevost added that he and his brother disagreed at times, adding that he isn’t as much of a pacifist as his brother. He added that he believes his brother will be a bit more conservative than his predecessor.
It is true that Pope Leo’s views suggest that while he may be a tad more conservative than Francis, his views politically do not line up with his brother’s. Pope Leo’s X feed shows that he has been repeatedly critical of Trump as well as Vice President JD Vance.
Video Called Nancy Pelosi ‘C’ Word
Prevost has made it more than clear on social media that he stands behind Trump. He has repeatedly shared MAGA content, including a video of Rep. Nancy Pelosi that contains the caption: “These f—ing liberals crying about tariffs is just unreal. Do they not know that there is a thing called video? Just listen to what this drunk c–t has to say in the mid-90’s long before her husband had Grindr dates.”
Pope’s Brother Is All MAGA
Prevost has directly expressed his advocacy of “Make America Great Again” in his personal Facebook post that his friends and neighbors should “Keep [their] powder dry, “because there is a “war right here at home, a war for our streets and neighborhoods.”
In a different post, he demands that any Democrat who met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should be arrested for treason. Unlike his brother, Prevost appears to like Vice President JD Vance.
Prevost Fan Of JD Vance
After Vance debated with Tim Walz, Prevost wrote, “J.D. was phenomenal debating Tim Walz and the moderators. Very knowledgeable and well spoken. He will make a great VP and then, a great President.”
Prevost has also posted that he believes the Democratic Party is overrun by communists. In one post, Prevost writes, “Back in the earlier days of our country, before lefties took over and ruined our schools, all these lefty dems would’ve been tarred, feathered and rode out of town on a donkey, or worse, shot or strung up for screwing with people’s lives so much.”
Likened Trump To Jesus
Prevost has even likened Donald Trump to Jesus Christ. He responded to a Facebook friend’s comment with, “Maybe you should go to one of his rallies, talk to other real people. Maybe even meet him if you‘re lucky. I did. Incredible man. Not comparing him to or saying he is like Christ, but both seem to be suffering the same treatment at the hands of the evil ones.”
Despite the differences in their political views is clear that Prevost does believe in his brother. During his interview with the New York Times, Prevost said that he believed his brother would do a “bang-up job” as Pope.
