Suitcase Sarah Boone may go down in history as the woman who chased away the most lawyers pre-trial. Taylor Schabusiness attacked a lawyer, and even she didn’t scare away eight attorneys. We had high hopes for lucky number eight until we received word that she withdrew.
It’s not entirely surprising considering we watched the disastrous hearing in court last Friday when Boone interrupted her own attorney during proceedings. The good news is that we heard about a 50-page letter she wrote for the judge. Some comedic relief we can read in between the immense anger and indignation we experience as Trooper Proctor reads his absurd texts and gets rightly steamrolled by the defense in the Karen Read trial.
Suitcase Sarah Boone’s Eighth Attorney Withdraws
Suitcase Sarah Boone is on her own again. Although she didn’t want to replace her eighth attorney, it looks like she doesn’t get to make the choice. Lawyer Patricia Cashman has 40 years of experience, having been a member of the Florida bar since 1984. She has literally seen it all, and even she can’t bear working with Suitcase Sarah Boone another day.
After a court hearing from Hades on Friday, Cashman threw up the white flag of defeat on Tuesday. She has requested to be withdrawn as Boone’s legal representative. Of course, the judge can decline her request, but considering Attorney Cashman already had concerns about the integrity of the lawyer-client relationship, that may not be the best idea.
The June 8th Court Hearing
Patricia Cashman’s withdrawal comes on the heels of the court hearing on June 8th. While Cashman was attempting to speak about her trouble with Boone so far, Suitcase Sarah interrupted her. This seemed like a small tidbit of what was going on behind the scenes, considering the attorney stated that Boone had walked out of more than one of their meetings.
Despite not wanting a new attorney, Sarah Boone seemed to greatly dislike her eighth lawyer, calling out her ‘nasty’ and ‘snotty’ attitude. Boone also said she had to ‘dumb herself down’ to talk with Cashman and accused her legal representation of lying to her. Suitcase Sarah also had the nerve to ask Judge Kraynick to speak with Cashman, saying, “If you could just please let her know to just please be nice to me and have a welcoming attitude.”
It’s unclear what the outcome of this most recent withdrawal will be. What we all hope and pray is that this trial is not as bad as the Darrell Brooks trial, assuming Boone has to represent herself. True crime fans are learning another fascinating lesson with this case: how many attorneys can one client scare off before they don’t get another opportunity?
