Summer Game Fest 2025 is happening this month. From June 6 to June 9, there will be themed showcases of upcoming video games. The various showcases can be streamed via YouTube or Twitch. There will be an initial kickoff event held at the YouTube Theater. This venue is in Los Angeles, California. Summer Game Fest can be shortened to SGF. SGF follows in the tradition of E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) video game display events. One event being introduced at SGF 2025 is the Green Games Showcase. Another is the Frosty Games Fest Showcase.
Summer Game Fest Overview
This annual event can also be referred to as SGF. According to Epic Games, SGF highlights “video games and their creators.” SGF offers a look at upcoming video games. There are games featured that are set to come out soon. The festival also provides glimpses of future video game announcements.
The kickoff for SGF excitement will be a live broadcasting event. This event will be streamed from the YouTube Theater. The YouTube Theater is located in Los Angeles, CA. Along with the kickoff broadcast, there will also be a series of other events. These events will take place over several days.
Schedule of Summer Game Fest 2025 Events
There will be four days of SGF 2025 events. Events will happen on June 6, 7, 8, and 9 of 2025. Events can be viewed as they happen on YouTube and Twitch. One event on Friday, June 6, will be the Access-Ability Showcase. Another Friday event will be the Summer Game Fest Showcase. Directly afterward will be Day of the Devs: Summer Game Fest Edition.
There are more events planned for Saturday, June 7. The day will open with Wholesome Games Direct. Two other events will be Women-Led Games and the Latin American Games Showcase. The Southeast Asian Games Showcase and the Green Games Showcase will follow these. Another event on that day will be the Frosty Games Fest Showcase.
On Sunday, June 8, SGF will continue to present exciting events. One event will be the PC Gaming Show. Two others will be the Xbox Games Showcase and The Outer Worlds 2 Direct. Another event will be held on Monday, June 9. This event will be Black Voices in Gaming.
Some Noteworthy Details About the Programming
This will be the first time Summer Game Fest will include the Green Games Showcase. Epic Games reports the event “will spotlight the video game’s growing commitment to the environment.” Environmentally-focused games will be featured. There will also be a question-and-answer session about how games can impact positive environmental action. Another event happening for the first time will be the Frosty Games Fest Showcase. This event focuses on video games from Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia.
The Women-Led Games website offers an introduction to the event’s focus. The website stresses that women can move beyond asking to inhabit the video game industry. It states that women are “creating the spaces” they would like to exist. The event presents games from teams led by and/or made up predominantly of women.
An additional few days of excitement will happen from June 11 to June 15. On these days, the Tribeca Games Gallery will be held. This event will take place across the country from SGF 2025. The Tribeca Games Gallery will take place in New York City. It will exist under the umbrella of the Tribeca Festival.
