On Sunday, Donald Trump used his social media platform, Truth Social, to share a post that former President Barack Obama should face a public “military tribunal.” Trump shared the post from a far-right X user. The post featured an image of Trump speaking with Obama and was captioned with “All Roads Lead to Obama… Repost if You Want A Public Military Tribunal. Trump shared the post but did not comment on it.
QAnon Link To Post
The original poster’s social media page shows ties to QAnon, and their X profile shared their happiness with Trump’s willingness to give the most extreme part of his base a voice. Trump has repeatedly questioned if Obama was born in America and accused him of treason related to accusations he made that Obama spied on his 2016 campaign.
Trump offered up no evidence of the spying. A military tribunal is used when trying military members who have been accused of serious crimes or suspected of acts of terrorism. It can also be used when a civilian is charged with a crime threatening or compromising national security.
Comey Controversy
Trump took an accusatory stand with his former FBI director James Comey, who recently shared an image online of shells on the beach arranged to form ‘8647.’ Trump accused Comey of calling for his assassination. The Secret Service interviewed Comey over the phone. Trump would later use social media to send out well wishes to former President Joe Biden after Biden shared that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer.
Obama’s Response to Biden’s Diagnosis
On Sunday, Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama also sent their well wishes to the Bidens after his diagnosis became public. “Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family,” Obama shared on social media. Biden served as Obama’s vice president from 2009 to 2017.“Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery,” Obama’s post added.
Conclusion
Biden’s office announced that the 82-year-old former president had been diagnosed with cancer with a “Gleason score of 9 with metastasis to the bone.” The statement also noted that this is a “more aggressive form of the disease; the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management.” Prostate cancer is the second-deadliest form of cancer in the U.S. among men. It directly affects the gland below the bladder and in front of the rectum. One in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, most men will not die from this form of cancer.
