19-Year-Old Twin Brothers Found Mysteriously Dead on Georgia Mountain

Twin Brothers

On March 8, 2025, twin brothers, Qaadir Malik Lewis and Naazir Rahim Lewis were found dead on Bell Mountain in Hiawassee, Georgia. Their family is searching for answers after their untimely death. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the death investigation. While a medical examiner has completed the autopsies of the twin brothers’ bodies, additional forensic testing is required before they can make an official ruling.

Twin Brothers Found Dead

Around 11:05 a.m. on Saturday, the Towns County 911 Center received a report from hikers that they found two dead bodies on top of Bell Mountain. The Towns County Sheriff’s Office asked for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to assist them in their investigation. The twin brothers were found with gunshot wounds and according to authorities, their initial claim is this was a murder-suicide.

Just 24 hours before the boys’ bodies were discovered, they bought plane tickets to Boston. Unfortunately, they never made it on the plane. They ended up on top of a mountain two hours away from their home, dead. The twin brothers’ family is devastated by the news and confused by the details. They were under the impression the boys were on a trip with friends.

The Family Demands Answers

Family members spoke with NBC affiliate WXIA, expressing their concern and demand authorities not be too quick to write this off. According to them, the twin brothers had a strong support system and there is no clear reason why something like this would happen. When authorities deemed this a murder-suicide in their preliminary investigation, the family debunked it. They do not even know where to begin when explaining how the details do not make sense.

Their aunt, Samira Brawner, said, “We want answers, we want to know exactly what happened to the twins.” According to the family, the twin brothers had no history of conflict. Their uncle said, “They’re like inseparable. I couldn’t imagine them hurting each other because I’ve never seen them get into a fistfight before.” They deserve to get the answers they are searching for and are rightfully concerned with this incident. There are always signs in people before something like this happens. If they did not do this to themselves, then who did?

Final Thoughts

Another one of their aunts, Yasmine Brawner, started a GoFundMe for the twin brothers. She claimed this was not something they would do. She said, “They came from a family of love, and twins wanted so much for their future, they had dreams of starting their very own clothing line.” She continued, “Unfortunately something happened at Bell Mountain that ended the lives of 19-year-old Qaadir and Naazir, which needs to be further investigated. We need your support to share their story.”

This is an unfortunate story. It is sad to think how their family is feeling. Until they know what happened on that mountain and in the 24 hours leading up to this tragedy, they may not be able to grieve properly. If the authorities and the medical examiner try to sweep their deaths under the rug, the family should continue to push back on the narrative. Unexpected things happen every day, and if there is more to be found, the authorities have a responsibility to find out.
