More than a week has passed since an Ohio dentist and his wife were shot and killed in their Columbus home. The police have shared few details since the murders, and the manhunt for the suspect is still ongoing.

Ohio Dentist and Wife Found Murdered in Columbus Home

Spencer Tepe, 37, and his wife, Monique Tepe, 39, were found dead in their home from gunshot wounds on Dec. 30. Their two children were found unharmed in the home. Spencer Tepe’s cousin, Audrey Mackie, said that the brutal deaths have been a “nightmare” for the family in speaking with NBC News.

On NBC News, Mackie said, “I have never experienced anything close to this type of tragedy. It’s heartbreaking. The whole entire family is just really torn up. They were fantastic people, so it’s really hard for everyone right now.”

The married Columbus couple was just a month away from celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary. The police response at the couple’s home was prompted by coworkers and friends who had called the police, reporting that Spencer Tepe and Monique Tepe had not shown up at work and weren’t answering phone calls.

Ohio police released a video of a person of interest who was seen walking near the couple’s home around the time of the double murder on Dec. 30. According to investigators, they believe that the couple was killed between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. in their home.

Surveillance caught the person of interest in an alley near the Tepe residence around the same time frame. According to an Instagram post obtained by CBS News, the Columbus Division of Police said, “We have received and are continuing to receive numerous tips from the community, which our detectives are following up on.” The footage shows the individual in a dark hooded top and lighter-colored pants.

The person’s hands are in their pocket while walking near the home. The person’s face is not visible and cannot be seen. Just days before the killings, a woman living on the same street as Spencer Tepe and Monique Tepe called 911 around 2:31 a.m. local time and reported that someone was banging on her door.

According to People, the woman said that a person was “smashing on my door. I think they’re trying to get in. They’re banging on my door.” According to the woman who called 911, she couldn’t see who the person was, and that the “problem left” at 2:44 a.m. Despite the person of interest being revealed in the video, a suspect has not yet been identified or apprehended. Questions still linger on what happened in the brutal murder.
