Choosing Tony Award Nominations 2025

Nominations include 26 competitive categories, and nominees are chosen by an independent committee of 54 theater professionals. The Tony Awards Administration appoints the committee members and decides who is eligible for this coveted honor.

41 Broadway theaters with legitimate theatrical productions during the current season are eligible for nomination for the 78th Annual Tony Awards. The eligibility season started April 26, 2024, and ended April 27, 2024. Voting by 840 designated Tony voters in the theater community will be in 26 competitive categories.
